We recently learned that Iranian intelligence agents were videotaping various infrastructures to include subway tunnels. So, now not only do we have to worry about third world terrorists, now we have to worry about professional intelligence officers.
In the world of intelligence, we rely on “tipper” information. Regarding rail security, we’ve now had three “tips.” The first was the SpecOps raid several years ago that discovered photos and other info on U.S. Railroads. Then during the OBL raid, we discovered that they were thinking about derailing a train on the 9/11 anniversary. Now we learn that Iranian intel teams are looking at subways (maybe other rail). To us, it is a plain as the nose on your face. We had better help the railroads improve what they are already doing to protect the rail infrastructure, rather than, as some agencies are saying; “we have a handle on it.”
